For more than three decades, The Cultch has offered dynamic programming in contemporary theatre, dance and music by local, national and international artists. Working to enrich the social and cultural life of Vancouver, we continue to bring world-class cultural presentations to the public, while supporting the growth of emerging artists and companies, and facilitating dialogue between groups in the Lower Mainland, especially within our local community of East Vancouver.
Position Description
1. Research and write one to two blog postings per week (approximately 500 words) based upon editorial calendar provided by The Cultch’s Marketing Department. 2. Ability to plan ahead to make sure articles are posted on schedule. 3. Post articles to wordpress blogging application. 4. Participate in brainstorming sessions regarding blog content. 5. Ability to write in a warm and engaging voice that represents The Cultch values. 6. May include photography relevant to blog articles.
Assets
1. Photo editing, strong copywriting, photography, css and html skills are all assets but not necessary. 2. An interest in the arts, specifically theatre, dance and music This position can be done from home or in-house.
Skills & Experience
Strong writing skills, knowledge of blogs and their tone of voice, ability to take copy-editing feedback and implement it into articles. Familiarity with computers such that articles can be posted online and photos added (we will provided training with this). Ability to compose interview questions and to research the subjects of the articles.
