Vancouver Fashion Week Opening Gala Recap!

Vancouver Fashion Week [VFW] Fall / Winter 2012 started off the year with a bang! The Opening Gala, that took place on March 20, 2012, hosted at the undeniably gorgeous and upscale Opus Hotel Vancouver, saw more than four hundred designers, models, media and VIPs come through the door into the one industry event any true fashionista would be sorry to miss.

As one of the lucky interns involved with VFW this year I was able to enjoy the festivities of the night, which included a champagne and donut reception in the breathtaking corner penthouse suite as well as amazing canapes and drinks the made their way around the room all night.

But enough about the food, let’s talk about the clothes.

Everyone was dressed to impress, it was hard to distinguish between guests, designers, media and models. The women were dressed in every style and colour you could imagine, with some ladies opting for short candy-coloured cuts, and others in long, sleek pieces accessorized to a t. The men gave the ladies a run for their money, with many opting for traditional full piece suits in greys and blacks, while others caught the true VFW fever and came dressed to impress in ivory suits, or like designer Aleem Arif for Bano eeMee, who came dressed in an army green jacket and gorgeous maroon slacks.
