Sam Alviar is an aspiring local musician writing a handful of beautiful acoustic/folk numbers with a singer-songwriter approach, all taken from the heart.
Persistently sharing his talent around the Vancouver area, Sam can be found playing as many shows as possible in many different venues the city has to offer. Just recently Sam played a set for the 4th part of Y57 Media’s Coffee Shop Series of which he did an absolutely amazing job.
Sam recently released a 5-song EP called Gifts and features his friend Jenny Banai on violin and on backing vocals. The EP was recorded at a home studio and took roughly 2 months to complete. With a penchant for expressing personal experiences in the most graceful way, all the songs on the EP are a genuine approach in crafting relatable stories of hope, love and joy.
Currently, Sam is writing new music and playing more shows around the Vancouver area. Sam also recently entered in a local Acoustic Battle of the Bands which is sponsored by Tom Lee Music and presented by Ceili’s Irish Pub and Restaurant and runs on Thursdays between April 5th-May 24th at 9pm. It looks like Sam is progressing nicely to the next rounds so be sure to check him out and track his journey through the contest.
