We’ve finally jumped the raincouver hurdle and now its safe to say: it’s beginning to look a lot like summer, everywhere you go!
It’s been a rough patch for us Vancouverites but we have seen the light in the cold, dark tunnel, (the sun that is). With this new weather hitting over 25 degrees we are in for a scorcher, and there’s no better way to enjoy the lovely sun by spending it at fun-filled activities with friends. And no need to worry my friends, this list consists of local activities all over the Lower Mainland, so you don’t have to worry about far, inaccessible events!
1) Movie Under The Stars!
There are certain moments in your life that linger in your memory forever, this being one of them. Be one of the few to enjoy a movie under the summer stars with family, friends, or loved ones at Fresh Air Cinema, a full-service outdoor movie company in Western Canada. These fun-filled night activities start at dusk about 20 minutes after sunset, and will keep you laughing all night long. 2) Needing a Hello Kitty Fix?
The Richmond night market is back, with two locations to choose from – 8351 River Rd or 12631 Vulcan Way! The excitement is here; with over a 100 vendors to visit, you are bound to find something you like. It is open from Friday- Saturday 7-12am and Sunday 6-11pm. Make sure you check out this place that everyone is raving about, and don’t worry, once you have shopped enough, take time to enjoy their delicious food they have to offer. After all, you cannot leave the night market before trying the infamous hurricane fries!
3) Beautiful Granville Island
Take a walk around the most talked about place, Granville Island. Granville Island is known for its exceptional food, so the question is: are you a food lover? Take time to explore the famous Grandville Island Food market to buy food of your own, or if you are feeling to lazy with the summer heat above you, stop at one of the tasty restaurants such as the Dockside Restaurant. Yum!
4) Nature Walks Anyone?
Hey I heard you were a wild one! So take time to visit British Columbia’s outstanding parks! Take time to Walk, skate, rollerblade, or bike around Stanley Park sea wall where you can find wood ducks, geese, raccoons, squirrels and even swans! Then you can grab a paddleboat and check out Lost Lagoon. Whether you check out Stanley Park, Burnaby Lake, Walnut Grove in Langley, or even your local park, you are bound to enjoy the summer breeze with a hint of wild animal interactions.
5) Its Getting Hot In Here!
With this summer heat you are bound to need something to cool down so why not try the best ice cream in town! Available at Coquitlam, English bay and even more come check out Marble Slab, you wont regret it! With lots of the freshest ice creams to pick you are bound to find your perfect one. Why is this ice cream creamery so special you may ask? Well its one of the few that you get to choose over 50 different topping to add to your favorite ice cream!
