Ever wonder what our music producers are listening to? Mystery solved! We asked them about the tracks they’re loving so far this summer and this is what they had to share:
Gigaheartz – “Fancy Cars”
Gigaheartz is fairly new to the scene here in Vancouver – but there’s something about this tune that is so epic. You have to play it loud. This new sound is certainly a departure from front-man Eric’s former rock group Aida, but we have a super good feeling about this new project. We can’t wait to hear more of where this came from!
Solitaire – “Ghost”
Who WOULDN’T want to dance to this? Solitaire has such a great vibe to him that carries over to his music. We love his mashup of genres – it’s great for summertime lounging on the beach. Funk realness!
The Courtneys – “Mars Attacks (feat. Young Braised)”
Whenever a Courtneys song plays, you’ll feel like you should be on a road trip down the California coast. This one is no exception, but we particularly love that they’ve featured local rap artist Young Braised on here. It just adds that extra cool element to an already catchy tune. The throwback beachy 50s vibe is super fresh.
James Deen – “An Unwritten Love Letter to Summer Roberts”
Taken from his recent I Appreciate U EP, this track has “summer jam” written all over it. Its awesome beat-work and bright, upbeat melodies makes us want to cruise around the city in a convertible — top down, of course. Turn up the volume on this one for maximum effect!
SYRE – “Burn (feat. Kendra Dias)”
This is one of our favourite tracks to come from the talented young producer and we just can’t get enough of it! Super slick production and vocals from Kendra Dias will keep us spinning this fresh house gem all summer long.
Kinship – “Faith Healer”
There’s something about Kinship that continually draws us back to his work. His newest effort, “Faith Healer”, is somehow moody, funky, and hypnotic all at the same time. Either way, we’ll be grooving to this one for a while.
