Hey Mirelle! Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m Mirelle Mokhtar, and I recently graduated from SFU with a degree in Communications and I live in Vancouver B.C. I’m a singer-songwriter and I’m currently working on my music – coming up with tunes and what not. I recently started posting covers on YouTube! When I’m not working on music, I’m hiking – I have plans to climb some gnarly mountains soon!

Why did you join Y57?
Since the age of 9, I remember, I always wanted to be a radio host. I love talking so much and telling stories. I just knew that being on the radio was what I wanted to do.
What do you do at Y57?
I’m a radio host; I get to invite music guests for interviews on the show. I’m also one of the music producers with Y57, and I make weekly playlists for the show as well.
What is your favourite part about being part of Y57?
I love discovering new music and getting a chance to talk to musicians who truly are so passionate about what they do – so inspiring. I love how fun it is. It’s always a good time in the studio with the team!

What is your ultimate life goal?
To create and inspire.
What are three things that you cannot live without?
I can’t live without music, a camera, and adventuring.
What is your biggest fear?
Being attacked by a bear!!!!
