The City of Vancouver requires all property owners and occupants (tenants) to clear ice and snow from the sidewalks adjacent to their property no later than 10 am after a snowfall (7 days a week). For some seniors and persons with disabilities moving snow can be difficult and even dangerous. Not clearing sidewalks can make streets unsafe and difficult for those with mobility issues.

The Improv Test Kitchen is an exciting platform for new and innovative improvisational comedy. This show features the newest, hottest improv shows, presented by a rotating cast of mainstage company members. Deck the halls with boughs of holly….it’s the pantomime season again, eagerly awaited by tiny tots and adults alike!
At this festive season Metro is presenting a pantomime seldom performed any more, ALI BABA, complete with all the stock characters, Ali Baba, Wakey Fakir, the evil El Hoot Dawg, the sinister Rhum Baba, and of course a pantomime dame (this year Cassie Blanca). Throw in the never to be forgotten Demon Distastely, add his arch enemy Fairy Nerd and sprinkle in an animal or two in Mudder, the sacred cow and Dobbin, the donkey and you can see we have a great line up of comedic characters to entertain you.
Many new faces are appearing in this years panto as a series of complications have resulted in many regulars not being in a position to perform the show this year.
Included are Christopher Dellinger as the Demon, Jennifer Moran as the Fairy, James Walker as Ali Baba, Andre Wade as Wakey Fakir andSara Dickinson as Polly.
Johnny Duncan who writes the pantomime each year is co-directing with Cathy Wilmot along with popular choreographer Dawn Ewen and David Rogers conducting the baton as Musical Director.
Ticket prices remain the same as last years pantomime at $23.50 for adults but only $14.00 for children of ten years of age and under,
There will be laughs galore, lots of audience participation, eye boggling scenery in what is guaranteed to be the highlight of the holiday season.

The Lower Mainland Green Team is a group of people from all over the Lower Mainland who get together once a month (sometimes more) to help an environmental group, non-profit organization, charity or city tackle an environmental issue that needs co-operation and teamwork to get done. Gloves and tools will be supplied as well as refreshments! If you care about the environment, this is the group for you. It is open to all ages.
Some activities will include:
• Pulling invasive plants that are overtaking our native flora
• Planting of native plants/trees
• Restoring areas along a stream, river, marsh or shoreline
• Beach/River/lake clean up
• Harvesting organic fruits/veggies
• Trail building/maintenance
• Restoration of wildlife sites
